How long is the lifespan?

As a manufacturer, we place high demands on the devices and the components installed. Not without reason, the service life is up to 10 years and more (see customer evaluations). The algae destructors have been designed so that all components can withstand more than normal conditions. In the safety instructions of the operating manual we refer to the following in order to guarantee the lifespan:

• Under no circumstances may the electronics box be exposed to permanent moisture or extreme temperature fluctuations, it must not be placed in direct sunlight or in a place where heat accumulation can occur.
• In winter, snow pressure can cause water to enter the electronics box. To ensure longevity, keep the electronics box in a dry place.

Other life-prolonging measures:

• In darkness the device can be left switched off. The cell division of the algae hardly takes place during the night hours.
• In case of a slight algae infestation, the device can be in service for 50% of the time. (In one hour 30 minutes operating time)

Time switch for swimming ponds

When swimming, interval-like clicking sounds can be heard at best. The G-Sonic sends clicks tones from 18 kHz. Young people and people with good hearing can hear the ultrasound click tones up to 22 kHz. If they are disturbing, it is good to know that they are not dangerous or harmful to humans. The device can easily be switched off or equipped with a mechanical time switch with open / closed function (e.g. Hager WH14230200Q). Animals, pets can also hear the click tones and should not go swimming or diving under water for safety reasons.

G-Sonic S units for biopools, swimming lakes, swimming pools, swimming ponds

Specially designed for bathing and swimming waters, the G-Sonic S versions (G-Sonic 10 S, G-Sonic 20 S, G-Sonic 50 S) send only 24 volt DC signals to the clicker generator under water and comply with the swimming pond standard DIN VDE 0100-702 / Austria the ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001-4-702 or their practically identical country-specific standards with up to 30 volt DC in the bathing area. All other G-Sonic devices send 48 volts to the click generator, ensuring the safest standard by multiple fuse protection.

In the winter with snow & ice

The click generator is made of VA4 stainless steel and the built-in transmitter is cast in a solid way so that no damage is caused when "freezing" in a layer of ice. Water can penetrate the electronics box due to snow pressure and damage the electronics. To ensure longevity, store the electronics box in a dry place.

Solar power 12 - 24 VDC

Due to the low energy consumption the G-Sonic can be operated with a 12-24 VDC (Volt DC) photovoltaic system. The solar system can be purchased from a specialist in your area.

Effectiveness of G‐Sonic Devices & Warranty

Each body of water has its own ecological balance, which is influenced by numerous environmental factors. In the case of excessive nutrient enrichment – for example due to lawn fertilizer influencing, contaminated groundwater or other external influences – algae formation can occur despite the device. 

Our checklist shows the relevant conditions for a successful assignment. The G‐Sonic works with click tones that gently interfere with the biological system without killing the entire ecosystem like chemical agents.

Under controlled laboratory conditions, we can provide a guarantee; however, in natural waters, due to the many environmental influences, a 100% guarantee of complete algae freedom is not possible. If the conditions are met according to the checklist, there is a high chance of success. 

Through our consulting & analysis, we check your water object for suitability. We give a two-year warranty on the device itself in the event of a technical defect.
